The Very Hungry Caterpillar

My youngest wants to be the Very Hungry Caterpillar for Halloween this year. They bought a green sweater and wanted me to make them a red bucket hat with the caterpillar eyes and mouth. I made the hat in the adult size and it was way too big!

So I made it again in the smaller size and that was better. I cut wobbly eyes from felt and knit some antennae. I added wire to those so they stand up. It's all a bit wonky, but the caterpillar is a bit wonky, so it works.

I've never made a bucket hat or a top-down hat. I'd like a bucket had for myself, but not red!
