100 Acts of Sewing - 2017
Back when twitter was fun and not overrun by literal nazis, I used to spend a fair amount of time talking to other moms, most of whom were homeschooling their kids. I knew several of them did quilting and it was around 2017 or so I learned about 100 Acts of Sewing. I had played around with sewing clothes in 2010 when I took a sewing class, but I'd never done much more than trying to make pajamas and the odd halloween costume. When I discovered 100 Acts of Sewing patterns, a w

Crafting - Early Covid Era (2020-2023)
I was going to post just knitting and crochet projects from this time period, but in looking through my photos from March-May 2020, I can see more cross stitching and other crafting than knitting/crochet, especially in 2020. Craft Room Reset
If you are anything like me, you have all the projects going on simultaneously. My current projects include: a sock I started back at the library crafting group back in May, which I just started working on again the quilt - it's my very first quilt and I have been reading lots of library books about quilting because I'm stuck on putting it all together. I have the backing, the batting, and a completed quilt top. I know how I plan to bind it and that I'm going to tie it by han

Southern Comforts Fiber Market
Can you believe I have been knitting since 2005 and have never been to a fiber festival? Over the years I have seen folks in the Carolinas talk about SAFF and Carolina FiberFest but I have yet to make it to any fiber fair... until this past weekend! My husband happened to be looking for something else and came across the Southern Comforts Fiber Market. I didn't waste a moment buying two tickets - one for myself and one for my crochet-addicted kid. Tickets were $5 each and pa
